OPELIKA CHAMBER

Foundation

The Opelika Chamber Foundation is the visionary force driving transformative projects in East Central Alabama to strengthen economic growth by supporting the Opelika Chamber’s mission, vision, and key pillars to build bridges, elevate business, cultivate community, and achieve excellence.

AREAS OF FOCUS

LEADERSHIP

Each of these leadership programs is unique, serving a different segment of our community—from high school juniors discovering their potential to established professionals shaping Opelika’s future. Together, they reflect our belief that the strength of a community depends on the leaders it cultivates today. These programs are put on by the Opelika Chamber through the mission of the Opelika Chamber Foundation, which is dedicated to developing leadership among current and future generations.

  • Lee County Young Leaders (LCYL): A countywide program designed for high school juniors, LCYL develops positive leadership qualities and prepares students to meet future challenges. By exploring local government, business, and civic life, students gain valuable insights and connections that inspire them to lead in Lee County and beyond.

  • Opelika Young Professionals (OYP): Uniting individuals ages 21–45, OYP offers opportunities to connect, grow, and engage in the Auburn–Opelika area. From social gatherings to professional development, OYP fosters friendships, collaboration, and community involvement while helping members balance personal and career growth.

  • 20 Under 40: Each year, this program recognizes 20 outstanding young leaders who are actively shaping Opelika’s future. Participants gain insight into how business, education, and public service intersect to create a thriving community, while also collaborating on an annual service project that gives back to Opelika.

WORKFORCE

The Opelika Chamber Foundation is committed to building a strong, sustainable workforce by aligning education, employers, and community partners. Through the Workforce Council, we work with the City of Opelika and local businesses to create a regional talent strategy, attract and retain skilled workers, and support programs that prepare students for future careers. Key initiatives include Career Quest, Industry Tours, which connect students, educators, and parents with real opportunities in Opelika’s job market, Roundtables, and more. Additionally, by addressing barriers like childcare and transportation and fostering programs like Opelika Young Professionals, we ensure our community continues to grow the talent needed for long-term success.

ENTREPRENEURIAL EFFORTS

The Opelika Chamber Foundation fuels a culture of entrepreneurship by equipping small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed. We partner with local resources to deliver impactful programs such as the Small Business Tax Seminar with the City of Opelika, Business Bootcamp with Auburn University’s Lowder Center, and the Small Business Summit with the Guide Resource Group. Through mentorship networks, peer groups, and the creation of a Small Business Resource Center, we connect entrepreneurs with guidance on everything from permitting and planning to finance and marketing. By celebrating entrepreneurial wins and supporting growth at every stage, Forward Opelika is driving innovation and strengthening Opelika’s economy.

BUSINESS RESOURCE HUB

The new Opelika Chamber building serves as a Business Resource Center and a hub for collaboration, innovation, and community growth. More than just office space, it is designed to be the heartbeat of Opelika’s business community—offering meeting rooms, training areas, and a welcoming space where entrepreneurs, employers, and leaders can connect. Through the Opelika Chamber Foundation, this facility anchors programs like leadership development, workforce initiatives, and small business training, while also housing resources and partnerships that strengthen our region. By creating a modern, accessible space for business, the Chamber is ensuring Opelika remains a place where people and companies come to grow, thrive, and succeed.

Chamber members and non-members alike can also take advantage of the building’s meeting room rentals, with Chamber members receiving exclusive discounts. Rates vary based on the date and whether you choose a half-day or full-day rental, and each space features advanced technology, ample parking, and flexible options to fit your needs.
