Education Committee
The purpose of the education committee is to aid in the growth of our members and community at large by defining and deciding on educational programs of interest, as a part of our annual programming & event calendar. The committee brings all the people that are working on education, talent, and workforce in our community together! By getting the right people in the room, we learn how to better shape educational programming. Committee members are responsible for selecting guest speakers and crafting content for educational events. Additionally, the education committee focuses on supporting our community’s workforce development efforts by:
- Utilizing our strong partnership with Southern Union and Opelika City Schools through their Ready-to-Work, CTE, and FAME programs
- Highlighting what’s possible for youth in education via Career Discovery & Lee County Young Leaders programs
- Supporting & promoting adult education opportunities
- Recruiting businesses to participate in mentorship & apprenticeship programs
