The Opelika Chamber board of directors is made up of prominent business owners and professionals throughout our community. They help shape the direction of our organization by leading our various committees, including our Small Business Committee, Minority Business Council, Women’s Business Council, Education, Membership & Recognition Committees, and much more. Serving on our board of directors begins with a 1 year commitment, but can result in as many as 6 years, and can also include serving as one of our executive committee members.Â

Chair of the Board - Clay Lane
Clay Lane serves as the Lee County Market President at MidSouth Bank, where he leads with a strong focus on strategic growth, financial leadership, and community engagement. A seasoned executive, Clay brings extensive experience in multimillion-dollar commercial and residential real estate development projects, specializing in financing, budget analysis, and project management. Known for his solution-focused approach, he excels in negotiations, risk analysis, and team leadership in high-intensity environments. Beyond his professional expertise, Clay is a visionary leader and effective communicator, deeply committed to serving the Opelika community. As the 2025–2026 Board Chair of the Opelika Chamber of Commerce, he combines his passion for service with proven skills in organizational leadership, business development, and collaboration—ensuring the Chamber is well-positioned for continued success.
