Spirit of Opelika Award Criteria

Th This award will be given annually at the Opelika Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting. The recipient must live or work in Opelika, Alabama. The recipient should be an individual of good moral and ethical character who has

demonstrated by word, deed, finances or other assets a significant positive contribution to the welfare of our citizens and / or city.

Examples of such a person might include:

· Being a champion for at least one cause that made a significant, positive difference in peoples’ lives beyond their own personal, company or organization’s benefit.

· Be actively engaged in several aspects of the community for a significant period of time.

· Being recognized by their peers for being a leader in their own profession or serving as a leader in the profession.

· Made significant positive contributions in leadership beyond just being a member of an organization.

· Has given notable time, talent and treasure for or to the benefit of others.

· Contributes in leadership, innovation, imagination, involvement, commitment and unselfish humanitarian service.

Distinguished Service Award Criteria

This award may be given annually at the Opelika Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting. The recipient may be any citizen who lives or works in Opelika, Alabama.

T The recipient should be an outstanding individual, either in public service or private industry that brought exceptional benefit and / or recognition to our city, county, state or nation.

University Summer English School for K-9 & Adults

The Auburn University Summer English School provides a fun and engaging opportunity to improve reading, writing and conversational English proficiency for K-9th grade and Adult non-English speaking students.
